“Health” In Concert March 4th, Arizona

These past couple of months, Phoenix has been on a roll for concerts, and on Monday, March 4th, the Nile Theater in Mesa, AZ, was host to Health and Pixel Grip.

Pixel Grip is a new and upcoming band that has paved their own path and created music that’s perfect for any dark, sweaty nightclub vibe. With their unique fusion of darkwave, EBM, and elements of pop, when they’re on stage, you can’t help but pay attention to them. They’re powerful, seductive, and have an attitude that lets you know we’re here and doesn’t give a shit about what you have to say.

Health keeps on climbing the ladder and developing into a well-oiled machine. The Nile was packed, and everyone was ready for what was about to hit them like a ton of bricks. Health Live is a sexually driven, drenched in sweat, chaotic war zone. Health is an intimate affair, with a light show that fits their chaotic music. While it mainly features silhouettes with bright lights flashing in the background, there are moments where the entire venue is lit up. They’re straight to the point and have very little to say, which, to me, makes the entire night about the music a night where you can just lose yourself in the shitshow that is this world.

The crowd ranged from older to younger, from people dancing the night away to headbanging and thrashing around. Health’s music isn’t a set tone of pure chaos but has a wide range. It’s sensual and dark, and with the slower songs, it radiates passion. The crowd got a huge surprise when Chino Moreno (Deftones, Crosses) was spotted on the side of the stage, jamming out to Health. Even though he didn’t get on stage, it was amazing to see him there, supporting bands like Health. For all the fans of health, this will be a memory ingrained in their brains. Health does not disappoint live, and the musical impact they have on you is everlasting. Catch them on tour now.
