Richie Ramone “The Punk Legend in Argentina”

Last Friday, November 24, we had the pleasure to enjoy a Rock Punk night, with the Ramones Drummer (now singer) Richie Ramone, at the Club Salamanca, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Today was to be a performance I wouldn’t soon forget with it being the first time I’d be seeing one of The Ramones live.

Opening the evening two Argentine punk rock bands “Angelito Tu Abuela” and “The Razones”, They sounded very good, leaving us ready for what was expected of the night.

It was finally time for Richie Ramone to take the stage, he opened the show playing drums, with the song “Durango 95”. As I usually do in every show, positioned myself as close to the stage as possible, so as not to lose any details, the mosh pits on the “Punk shows” were a bit complicated, it became more and more intense and crazy, for a moment I saw myself flying haha, for that reason I decided to move to a safer place in the theater, to enjoy the show.

Going through the Ramones tracks and his solo songs, with a very long and dynamic setlist, with a song such as “Howling at the Moon”, “I Wanna Live”, and his solo songs “Live to Tell” (from his album released this 2023)“Who stole my wig” just for mention a few. The best moment of the night was with the song “Blitzkrieg Bop” (one of my favorite songs of the Ramones) and everybody jumping and singing “Hey Ho Let’s Go”.

Richie has proven that he is a living legend, and most importantly, that rock makes us look forever young.
