Julian Larre “LessDMV” ‘The Sanctuary’, Acoustic

June 24, 2023 – ‘A night to remember

Julian Larre, also known as “Lessdmv”, held the first edition of “The Sanctuary”, an acoustic show, in Maria`s Ballroom in Hamburg. With this show he also celebrated his birthday which was on June 18th.
Lessdmv is Julian´s solo project that he brought into being at the beginning of the year 2013.
The debut album “Epitaph” was released in September 2015 and includes 12 songs that already gave a glimpse of the range of Julian’s voice.
The Epitaph is not only the name of the debut album, but also the first of the signs that Julian designs himself. Until now he has designed 6 signs:

  1. The Epitaph
  2. Lethal
  3. The Light
  4. The Unknown
  5. The Nemesis
  6. The Sanctuary
Every sign represents a separate chapter and has its own meaning.

The Epitaph is Julian´s personal flag and he calls it the root of his existence. He made this sign in 2009 and it became the official sign of his project.
The Sanctuary is the newest sign, designed in 2023 and also the eponym of the acoustic show.
At the beginning of 2018 Julian joined Patreon, a platform where fans can support artists and creatives. In return they get early access to new songs and shows for example.
Julian always wanted to be an independent artist and Patreon gave him the opportunity to be supported in this.
Furthermore it was and still is important to him to be close to his fans and to the people supporting him.
Julian is an outstanding artist and also a great person. He is born for the stage and captivates the audience with his versatile voice and his energy.
He created a community that is called the LDMV army or LDMV family. People from all over the world get in touch, communicate via social media and meet for example at shows from
Lacrimas Profundere, a german Dark Rock band of which Julian has been the singer since 2018. Friendships are made and the team spirit in this community is amazing.
I´m part of this wonderful community and when Julian announced the acoustic show there was no doubt that I will go there.
People from the UK, the U.S., Canada, France, Romania, Slovakia etc. also made their way
to Hamburg to watch the show and to meet other members of the family. Even the staff of the club was impressed where the people came from.

Before the “official” part of the show started, the LDMV community was invited to a special fan Meet & Greet where Julian performed a few songs and had some surprises in store for us.
At 8 p.m. the doors opened for everyone. The LDMV community was already warmed up and excitement was in the air.
We were all looking so much forward to this event. The rawness and purity of an acoustic show make it a special experience.
Around 9 p.m. the show started with the song “Damned Memories” which is part of the “Epitaph” album.
One of Julian´s best friends and the producer of “Epitaph” (and many more songs), Oscar Brash, and his brother Charles supported him musically.
The atmosphere was incredible and Julian, Charles and Oscar were a well-rehearsed team.
One could feel how good they know each other, how much fun they have and what it means to them to play this show together.
The setlist included 21 songs and 2 encores. Besides his own songs Julian performed songs by 30 Seconds To Mars, Slipknot, Stone Sour and Negative.
His stage presence and his ability to infatuate the audience are impressive.
The audience sang along wholeheartedly, they wore glowing bracelets and turned on their cellphone flashlights during some songs.
I´m a self-confessed admirer of Julians absolutely versatile and powerful voice.
As a huge admirer of Corey Taylor´s voice I was pretty excited when I heard Julian´s cover versions of Slipknot and Stone Sour for the first time. I expected them to be good, but they are more than this.
When Julian sang “Snuff” by Slipknot at the show it brought tears to my eyes and that was my magic moment that night.
Music means a lot to me and listening to a singer who is able to evoke different feelings and who is able to touch my heart with his voice in that way is one of the greatest things to experience.
The Sanctuary show was really a night to remember. I highly recommend to everyone to visit the next edition!
