Hi Linda thanks for this interview

SUNRAY: Tell us about you
Linda: With over 30 years of experience in the hair industry, I am proud to say that I have managed to combine a full and very rewarding career with a wonderful family life, which includes a loving husband and 3 incredible children. I am a very social person and thrive in high energy environments. I am always open to learning and developing my skills as a stylist. I consider myself an optimistic person who enjoys solving any problems that may arise.

SUNRAY: When did you decided become a hairstyle?
Linda: I have always enjoyed doing hair and knew at an early age that I had a creative mind. My sisters are 10 years older than I am, and I remember doing their hair and makeup, getting them ready for a night out, when I was as young as 12. Even at this early age, I loved everything that had to do with hair, makeup and fashion.

SUNRAY: What fuels your creative passion for hair?
Linda: I love surrounding myself with creative people. My business partner Dan Nguyen is a massive influence–as is our entire LURE team. My creative fashion shoots outside of the salon get my artistic juices flowing. I appreciate the innovations in street fashion, art and design.

SUNRAY: Give us a few words which define who you are as hairstylist?
Linda: I am passionate about my work and I love surrounding myself with like-minded people. Balance is a good word to describe me. Hair is only one part of my life: my remarkable family and my love of nature also help to define my essence.

SUNRAY: You participated on Fashion week for NYC, Milan and Paris, how was that experience?
Linda: Amazing! There is no feeling like working backstage. The energy is astounding and the amount of talent working back stage is incredible. I have mainly worked with the Oribe team, and the mission is the same with the whole team: to create an amazing show and unforgettable hair. It inspires me to be surrounded by the dynamic energy found backstage.

SUNRAY: Linda you are one of the exclusive hairstylists of the wonderful, gorgeous actress Pamela Anderson; what is working with her like?

Linda: I have been fortunate to have worked with Pamela since 2018. I have done her hair for many of her creative shoots and have had the opportunity to colour and cut her hair. She always has a clear vision of her work and is a true professional. She is a beautiful, intelligent and strong woman. I admire her in so many ways. Not only is she an activist and philanthropist, but she has an amazing vision for our planet and the beautiful creatures living in it.

SUNRAY: Talk us about LURE Salon
Linda: Linda: I am an owner/operator at LURE Salon with my business partner and friend Dan Nguyen. We have successfully run our salon for almost 15 years in Vancouver, B.C., and we have an amazing team of designers. We have been fortunate to have worked with the best in the industry, as well as with the man himself, Oribe Canales, and have been to Fashion week in Milan, Paris and New York. We have worked shows such as Armani Prive, Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, Cinq à Sept, The Blonds, Adam Selman and Brandon Maxwell.

SUNRAY: During 2019 and 2020 LURE Salon Won the “Lux Life Leaders In Luxury Award” how do you feel with this recognition?
Linda: We are extremely honoured for the Lux Life award. Lux Life not only speaks to lifestyle, but to service and prestige. We have prided ourselves in being a fashion-based boutique salon which prioritizes customer service and client satisfaction. We have also been honoured with receiving the Top Choice Award for Vancouver’s Top salon for 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. We are thankful for all the recognition we receive, which confirms the hard work and dedication our team puts into the salon.

SUNRAY: What personalities have you worked for?
Linda: Linda: I recently did a photoshoot with Bryan Adams for Zoomer Magazine featuring Monika Deol. I have worked with celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, Marisol Nichols (from “Riverdale”), Elysia Rotaru, Micky Summers (from “Snowpiercer”), and Matt Ryan (from “Constantine” and “DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow”).

SUNRAY: Linda you worked in several editorial, one of them was with the young, talented actor and photographer Cole Sprouse how was work with Cole?

Linda: Cole was the photographer for a shoot he produced with model Reina Silva. He is an incredibly talented actor and photographer. The shoot we did was remote, and because of Covid, hair, makeup and styling were unable to attend, but he was amazing and gave great direction for the shoot. He left no stone unturned.

SUNRAY: What is the best advice you could give to a young ambitious hairstylist who is looking to develop and further his career in the hair sector?
Linda: Challenge your way of thinking. It may not be an easy industry to excel in, but you will give yourself a good chance to succeed if you listen carefully and never stop trying to improve your skills. As well, you should be humble and completely open to learning new techniques and surrounding yourself with the best and most creative people. I do not hesitate to attend classes or volunteer to work with people I admire and respect.

SUNRAY: Tell us where we can find you
Linda: Linda: Linda_Refosco on instagram.
I am currently at LURE Salon in Vancouver, Canada, but because of Covid, I have been unable to travel outside of Canada. However, once the restrictions are lifted, you would be able to find me in NYC, Europe or wherever my craft takes me.
