“Nothing Known” Interview with Rock Band

SUNRAY MAGAZINE has the pleasure to interview the Rock Band “Nothing Known“.

SUNRAY: How Did You Meet?
NK: It goes way back actually. Troy and Trevor are brothers, and Trayton has been a very long time friend of ours, but also in previous bands Troy, Trevor, and Trayon have been together in some sort of way. We stopped playing in bands together because Trevor went off to join the United States Marine Corps, but throughout the years of Trevor being in the Marines, he got with Troy and wanted to start the band again. We knew Alex years before Trevor went off to the Marines, because he actually came to do vocal auditions one time and absolutely nailed it. So Trevor got in touch with Alex and told him he’s starting the band again, Alex was totally on board. Same with Trayton. Alex knew Cody through bands he’s played in and friends so that’show Cody began to drum with us and start of a great friendship.

SUNRAY: Why “Nothing Known” ?
NK: Honestly, We were thinking of a name and Trevor just randomly came up with it, and it stuck with us, everyone liked it. That’s basically it.

SUNRAY: Who Are Your Biggest Influences?
NK: A Day To Remember, Knocked Loose, Counterparts, Code Orange, Citizen, Joyce Manor, Bad Omens, and Modest Mouse. You’ll be able to hear some of these elements in our new songs.

SUNRAY: Who Do You Sound Like?
NK: We’ve been told our current songs have been given people Breaking Benjamin vibes

SUNRAY: What’s Your Songwriting Process?
NK: Multiple ways actually, either its guitar riffs or bass riffs, lyrics, or ideas. We all just come together and structure it, eventually it turns into a song

SUNRAY: Who’s your ideal musician to collaborate with and why?
NK: Fronz from Attila because of his energy and unique vocal style. Bryan Garris lead singer from Knocked loose would be a killer feature to have on a verse before a brutal breakdown. His screams are purely gut wrenching and would help elevate a song to a darker tone.

SUNRAY: Talk us about the new Single ‘Take Me Out’
NK: Take Me Out started with Troy coming up with this funk style bass riff you hear in the verse, and we built it upon that riff, but we wanted to make sure it was a hard hitting song at the same time. We wanted a song that was about being relentless in achieving your goals, if you get knocked down by doing so, just get back up and keep at it. You are your own person, your own weapon

SUNRAY: What Next for the band?
NK: We have a couple more songs to release, and an EP as well. Trevor is very close to the end of his contract with the Marines, after that we’ll start playing shows. Until then, we plan on releasing some more music and content. We’ve been writing new music, some pretty heavy songs you might hear.

SUNRAY: Please tell us where we can find you (Social Networks, website…)
NK: On our social media pages, we do have a link tree that will direct you to all our pages and merch store, you can also find our youtube there as well. We are currently building a website too. Our Instagram and Twitter is @nthingknwn.
